Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on 6 November 2026 that the latest jobs report shows nearly 400,000 private-sector jobs created in the past three months and more than 100,000 manufacturing jobs added in 2026 alone.

In a full-length X post, Bessent argued that re-industrialization and re-privatization of the American economy are gathering force, and that the economy is rebalancing away from government-led growth toward private investment and productive employment. The US Treasury account amplified the same message.

How to read the claim

The figures and framing are the Treasury Secretary's political and economic interpretation of the official jobs report. They are not an independent audit of BLS microdata. Markets separately debated December Federal Reserve odds after the release; Bessent's post does not itself set Fed policy.
